Nesting dolls (matryoshkas)

Russian matryoshkas, nesting dolls are world famous but only few knows its birth story. First set of matryoshkas were carved by Vasiliy Zvezdochkin and painted by Sergei Maliutin. It was year 1890. Ten years later Maliutins dolls were presented at the World Exhibition in Paris and those dolls won amazing bronze medal there.
